Islandle

Islandle puts players into a true global exploration journey. Here, you face not just vocabulary, but the entire world map. From famous densely populated tropical islands to remote atolls. Your goal is to find the mysterious island of that day within a maximum of ten guesses. Each day, a new land is randomly chosen. This challenges your intuition, geographical knowledge, and sharp logical reasoning ability. Open your eyes to the most distant lands on the planet.

GAMEPLAY MECHANICS

To explore this game, players need to use the mouse to interact with functional buttons. The keyboard is to input data. When accessing the game, you will see an overhead photo of that day's mysterious island. It floats amidst the virtual ocean. Right below is a prominent search bar. Your task is to type the name of any island you suspect into this search bar. Islandle's smart system will automatically display a dropdown suggestion list. It appears as soon as you type the first letters. You just use the mouse to click and select the correct island name from this list. Press the guess button or the enter key for players to submit the answer.

After each incorrect guess, the game provides three extremely important clues:

Direction: Indicated by directional arrows. An arrow pointing up corresponds to North. Pointing down corresponds to South. Diagonal directions like Southeast, Northwest. This arrow indicates which direction the target island lies relative to the island you just guessed.
Distance: Displayed in specific kilometers or miles. This parameter shows the exact geographic distance from your guessed island to the target island. The smaller the distance means you are getting closer to the finish line.
Relative population: Indicated by mathematical symbols greater than (>), less than (<), or equal to (=).

Integrating population data into the suggestion system

Comparing population helps players think in terms of geospatial space. Additionally, you must relate to demographic and socio-economic factors of the lands.

Displaying visual images

Right from the start of the game, you will admire the unique geometric shape of the mysterious island. It appears as a dark patch on the ocean background.

Daily challenge game mode

All players worldwide will solve the same puzzle together within 24 hours. This creates a very high community spirit. You can share your results on social media. After overcoming the challenge, the game will provide you with a detailed statistics table. Along with that is a direct link leading to the actual map of that island. Thus, players maximize the expansion of their understanding.
